Yay for Jason!

So, after much coaxing, I have finally gotten my awesome hubby, Jason, to write a blog post (refer to the post, "Something to Blog About.")  Nearly everyday I mention to him, "you know, it IS JASONandlili.blogspot.com, not just lili.blogspot.com..."  Hopefully you'll be reading some more posts written by him.  He's got lots to share.

I just want Jason to know how proud of him I am.  He has really worked hard this year and I have seen such a growth in him as a doctor.  I'm so glad that he is loving what he is doing, that he is becoming more confident in his chosen profession and that he continues to look hot in his doctor scrubs.  :-)  I'm also very excited to have him around a little bit more next year.  Thank goodness for that!

I can't wait to see him interact with our new little baby girl.  He's going to be such a great dad and I am one of the luckiest girls in the world to be married to him.  I love you, Jason and I just wanted you to know that I'm so proud of you.  You're my everything and I'm excited to bring a child into this world with you!  Let the chaos begin...
T minus 2 until D-DAY

So, I've been referring to my last and final sonogram as D-Day, AKA Decision Day.  It is on Monday morning.  Can weekends really go this slow?  I'm obviously itching to get this show on the road, so I'm very excited to see what they'll decide to do.  It will be a sonogram with a consult with a perinatologist (a high-risk OB) as to what they suggest we do as far as delivery. Stay tuned for the decision!

I went to my OB yesterday.  There has been a little progress as far as dilation and effacing, but things are going great with the baby.  Her heart rate is fantastic, she's active...she's just having a little hay-day, happy as a lark in there.  When the doctor measured my uterus, she just looked at me, smiled and said, "wow, this baby is taking up every inch!  I would say she weighs about nine pounds right now."  N-I-N-E pounds?  The scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off came to mind immediately, when the principal, Ed Rooney, was saying the number of times Ferris had missed school that year..."NINE TIMES..." -- "NINE POUNDS".... Sigh.

Last night, I felt like she grew another pound, if that's even possible.  So, I sign off with this: Monday is our big day.  We'll have all the stats and a pretty good idea as to when she's coming. My guess is that we'll be bringing home our little bundle of joy in the next week.  We're very excited and can't wait to share the news of D-Day with you soon!

SOMETHING TO BLOG ABOUT

Today as of 1300 hours I finished my last of 53, 30-hr, shifts as an intern!  I can't say I'll never be on call again, but next year as a second year resident there will only be 5 of 12 months on a call schedule, compared to 9 out of these last 12months.  And most importantly, I will never carry a cross cover pager again!  This little devil is the saboteur of restful slumber, the bane of a house officer's existence. On a typical night on call, I would expect anywhere between 25 and 100 pages regarding the care of 50-some-odd inpatients. Over the decades, this experience has become some kind of twisted, time-honored tradition in educating the young doctors of America.  How did sleep deprivation at the hands of well-meaning nurses become an indispensable part of an intern's training?  I will never know.  You really start to wonder by 4am and the 60-somethingth page since 11pm if all the staff in the hospital are guilty of collusion.  Is there a hidden camera in the call-room? Is my every move being web-casted to all the nurses stations in the hospital?  How do they time those pages? How does that little devil of a device manage to buzz  every time I touch my cheek to my pillow?  How? I don't think I will ever know.  Why is it that medication and lab orders always expire at midnight, so that the poor cross-cover intern has to renew them? Why does a patient's insomnia suddenly become an emergency at 4am and merit multiple pages? Hasn't he been awake for a long time? Why is it that all night nurses are concerned enough about diminished urine output to page a sleeping intern but none of the day nurses seem to care at all? Why would a nurse ever say, "aww.... were you sleeping?"

I could go on and on, but hopefully you get the idea.  This is a big day!  I'm done with cross-cover forever.  A defining moment in this young doctor's life.  In all fairness, there is a valuable 1% of those many pages that turn out to be important.  Those are the opportunities to learn how to save a patient from respiratory failure because they aspirated, or cardiac arrest, or septic shock because some pneumonia has gone from bad to worse.   Those are the kinds of moments that really made this year remarkable.  And I'm so glad it's over!

Soon this landmark of a moment will be overshadowed in a heartbeat by the arrival of our much-anticipated special delivery!  I can't wait to be a daddy!

Dear baby,

Hi, honey.  It's your mom.  It's time for you to make your entrance.  NOW.  (Baby:  Note the urgency.)  A friend wrote me yesterday something very true.  She said, "nine months is Heavenly Father's very wise plan.  He gets us so fat and ready to be done with pregnancy that by the end, we don't care WHAT it takes to get that baby out"  ...I mean, come on, labor is no cake party...and giving birth to a big baby, I'm sure, is really not a cake party.  And if anyone has ever shared the nitty-gritty of labor with you, you know what I'm talking about.  Baby, don't make me resort to doing things like drinking castor oil and other nasty things.  Please, I'm pleading.

Here's the deal.  You're a big baby, which is not your fault...but still, it doesn't negate this very blatant fact.  Big baby equals huge mamma.  Huge mamma equals a serious duck waddle.  Huge mamma equals no more clothes to wear.  I've officially outgrown all my Sunday attire.  I don't want to have to go buy a tent dress for ONE more Sunday.  In fact, all I really want to wear is a huge "moo-moo" posing no restrictions to my body movement - I have never wanted to buy a moo-moo, but I'm on my way to the store to buy something ASAP.  I've outgrown all my pants - minus two pairs, which are starting to feel very snug.  When your mother's full-panel pants are feeling tight and her biggest goal is to get to the store and buy a huge tent to wear, that means it's really time for you to come.

Not to mention that your head is now sitting right on my bladder, which consequently lands your mother in the bathroom nearly every 15 minutes.  The doctors keep saying "drink lots of water."  But I don't want to because then I can't even leave my house without thinking where I am going to go the bathroom next.  Do you understand?  Your amniotic fluid cannot be replenished at the rate you are wanting it to.  I know you are as happy as a lark in there, just hanging out, sucking all you can from that umbilical chord, kicking your mom in the ribs and your most recent pastime of hitting my sciatic nerve that radiates in my back and more unsightly, my groin.  I'm sure you think it's hilarious that while I am walking in public, I have to grab my groin due to sharp pains shooting down the front of my leg from my groin.  You're making your mommy look like a crazy woman, baby.  That's just about all I can take.

I promise that if you come, you'll love it out here!  I have a beautiful little crib for you, I've got lots of cute clothes to dress you in, I'm ready to change your diapers and feed you whenever you want to be fed...and you have very anxious parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins ready and excited to attend to every one of your needs.  Now what sounds so bad about that??

I love you baby, but I just might go crazy if you don't come very soon.  This level of discomfort is just too much for your dear mommy.  I don't want to be told that I look as big as a house/car/horse/cow/giant (fill in with any noun that is described as big) anymore.  I'm telling you this because I love you.  And I just really want to meet you.  Okay, baby?

Love your pleading mother,
Lili

An 'Ode to the N-E-L-S-O-N-S!

Tonight, Jason and I were talking about how much we missed Rachel and Todd Nelson, so I've decided to blog an ode to the Nelsons.  One of our first weeks in Washington, DC, I met Rachel in Relief Society and knew right then that we'd be fast friends.  We were essentially living parallel lives at the time - we had just gotten married five days apart from each other, both Todd and Jason were in medical school, we were all die-hard BYU grads (Go COUGS!), Rachel and I both shared a dislike for working full-time, we both loved to bargain shop and much more.

I guess you could say that we instantly had "chemistry."  Rachel called me after we hung out for the first time and said something to the effect of "we had a really great time, we'd love to go on a second date."  As a newly married couple, this statement couldn't be more true!  Now you have to find couples (mixing in two more personalities) where everyone gets along.  After a few months, we persuaded them to move into the Envoy, we became neighbors and the rest is history.  The Nelsons are awesome and we couldn't ask for better friends!  So, tonight, I'd like to give a little shout out to our best friends - Rachel and Todd Nelsons (which i affectionately named the "Todds") and their ever-so-darling Audrey.  Congrats on making a REALLY cute baby, on graduating medical school, on matching in an awesome program and on becoming homeowners!  You guys are such adults.  No fair.

Here are some fun pictures of past memories!

National Mall on a Sunday...it snowed, church got cancelled and we decided to go enjoy it!
The night the Todds picked us up from the airport and we won Kelly Clarkson tickets on the radio!!
One of the many times we spent at Screen on the Green in Washington, DC.  It was mighty hot and humid on those August nights!
Halloween - Todd the hunter...Rachel the hunted.
Rach, Audrey and me at the Pancake House in April 2008!
Me and Rach at a National's game at the RFK Stadium
Ain't she an angel, ladies and gents?  National Mall on a snowy day in Washington, DC
Todd's classic dance move...oh, how we miss it.
Harry Potter sisters shopping at the outlets in Leesburg, VA
Thanksgiving we spent together at a ghetto, yet fantastic little cabin in Shenandoah, VA

Bowling at GW's student center
Outback Steakhouse - celebratory dinner for Todd's completion of the first step of the boards
Gettin' wild at the Kelly Clarkson concert, Nissan Pavillion - "Since You've Been Todd!"  The truth came out later that Todd really liked and listened to the song "since you've been gone."  It's okay, Todd.  We still love you.  Sorry, Rach...I had to do it.
The only time I saw Rachel preggo...a five minute overlap during our trips to Utah!
All of us at our going away BBQ - which went surprisingly well seeing that there wasn't a grill to make all the hamburgers and hot dogs that were brought.  Apparently, what the city of DC thinks is a grill is not what the rest of the country considers a grill.  Last time I checked, a stone chimney with no rack to cook your meat on is NOT a BBQ.  Crazy DC peeps!

While I have a lot more pictures and memories to reminisce about, I think I'm going to stop here.  We love you guys and are so excited to hear about all your new adventures in Ann Arbor.  Just don't freeze to death or get buried by snow, k?

I think I'm in love...

...with a $150 diaper bag.  Sigh.  So, I feel like I have been very reasonable in a not-so-reasonable baby market.  I got my crib for $75, I scoped out and bought the cheapest and most functional dresser I could find, I used my 40% Pottery Barn Kids discount to buy my bedding which ended up being about $22 with the help of a few gift cards and I purchased a very reasonable car seat and umbrella stroller that can be used into toddler-hood.  But golly-darn-it, I just can't kick my desire to have a stylish and fantastic diaper bag.  Am I vain?

I guess it goes back to the fact that I LOVE purses - in all shapes and sizes.  About every six months, I find an itching to buy another one, so I make my way to Ross, Target or TJMaxx to check out the deals.  But in no way have I ever spent close to $150 for ANY purse that I own.  I think the most expensive one I have ever purchased was close to $40.

As I have been searching the internet for diaper bags, I have been astounded as to how much they cost in general.  It also doesn't help that I tend to pick the most expensive one out of the multitudes.  Can I help that I have good taste?  :-)  As I was looking on a web page one day, my eyes landed on The Ju Ju Be "Be Spicy" in Perky Perennials print diaper bag...and I can't seem to get my mind off of it.  Here she is, folks...

I did some research to see where Ju Ju Be's were sold here in Tucson, because I wanted to see if I actually liked it - or if I had fallen in love with a picture. Yesterday I got my huge belly into the car and visited Mrs. Tiggy Winkles Toy Shop.  Verdict?  I loved it.  It's a big-daddy purse which, if you know me, is an absolute must.  My purses are the size of small countries, therefore my diaper bag must be also.  I love the fabric which is clearly made to withstand children and their messes...and then there's the special "mommy pouch" that holds keys, phone, wallet, etc.  It comes with a matching changing pad and a few extra accessories like a hard case for wipes, a waterproof bag for clothes that fall victim to the diaper explosions I keep hearing about and much, much more.

I'm pretty sure that I can't bring myself to spend that much money on a diaper bag...but man, isn't she pretty?  I guess I can dream, right?  Until then, I'm on the hunt for a cute, stylish and reasonably priced diaper bag.  I love you, perky perennials Ju Ju Be.  Maybe one day I can afford you, but until then, I'm going to work on that virtue called patience and sensibility.

BABY UPDATE

With essentially two more weeks to go to my due date, I'm starting to feel like a ticking time bomb.  When is she going to come??  As a first-time mom, I'm hoping that I will be able to tell the difference between false and real labor and that I will make it to the hospital on time when it all comes to a climax!

Today I had my weekly visit with my OB.  In one week, I went from one centimeter dilated to two centimeters dilated...and it appears that my cervix is thinning out.  YAY!  Progress!  I'm also "lightening" which is when the baby starts making her way down...which has done wonders in my ability to breath, but considerably cut down on my bladder's capacity.  Needless to say, it has gone from the size of a peanut to a size of a grain of rice.  I can also feel more pressure in my pelvis and have officially adopted the duck waddle.  Ain't that dainty and beautiful?  There's nothing more that i wanted but a sweet duck waddle walk.  My dreams are complete!  In any case, the baby's head is sitting right in position and the doctor said she could feel her head.  Say what?  She can feel her head?  Crazy.

The past couple of days, I have been having some serious Braxton-Hicks and last night, I woke up a few times to my uterus cramping -- very uncomfortable!  Obviously nothing to worry about yet, but Lady Wright is definitely on her way down and out...ticking time bomb, indeed!

I go twice a week now for non-stress tests to measure her heart rate and movement.  Every time the doctor sees her printouts, she says "what a beautiful baby!"  Her size has become quite a joke between the two of us these days.  The other day, I told my OB that I had bought a crib and she responded, "Is it a giant crib?  I hope you didn't buy a bassinet, because she's already outgrown that!"  Haha!  So funny.  Of course, she's kidding - our baby will fit in a bassinet.  However, all joking aside, I'm starting to freak out that I'm going to have to attempt to push out a ten pound baby!  I'm scared that she's going to come out walking and talking.  :-)

So there you have it.  I go for a sonogram in about nine days and we'll see where we stand.  If she's an official BERTHA, we are going to have to make some plans to get her out ASAP.   Hopefully she'll come before then!!

A Happy Ending...

We have been looking at strollers and car seats since the end of February.  The first time I walked into Babies R Us was probably one of the most overwhelming experiences I have ever had in my life.  Seeing the four isles of strollers, I didn't even know where to begin!  What stroller should I buy?  Should I get a travel system?  An umbrella stroller?  How much should i spend?  Is spending more money mean that the product is better and/or safer for our baby?  I got a hold of a great book called "Baby Bargains" - a recommendation from my friend Cassidy Pinegar.  This book puts out a new edition each year talking about ALL baby products on the market with user reviews, grades and the nitty-gritty of the product - likes, dislikes, recommendations, etc.

After much reading and about 20 visits to Babies R Us, I came the conclusion that I wanted to buy a Chicco car seat and stroller - seemed like a middle ground between the really cheap and the really expensive and I liked the way it looks.

So, I got online and ordered my car seat and stroller from a company called HappyMothers.com.  When the stroller came, I realized that one of the straps was broken.  I immediately called happymothers.com and explained to them what was wrong - they referred me to Chicco to get a replacement piece.  I was a bit annoyed that I had paid one company for a product and now had to deal with another company - but whatever, I called them and told them what the issue was and they said that they would immediately send me a replacement for the stroller.  The problem with that was the fact that in order to replace this small little piece, I had to literally take apart the entire stroller and replace the whole lining of the stroller (which was obviously NOT meant to be taken apart by the user).  A little hesitant, the lady assured me that there would be instructions on how to do it.

Fast forward two weeks later, I had not seen any replacement piece from Chicco yet, so I called Happymothers again to tell them that I was dissatisfied and would like a new stroller, that I didn't want to have to deal with taking apart my stroller and compromising its safety AND furthermore, that I was close to my due date and didn't have time to deal with this any longer.  I had definitely given Chicco ample time to get me the piece.  The lady from happymothers told me she would call Chicco and see what was going on and quickly called me back and said that the piece was on the UPS truck and that I should be receiving it THAT day.  It came - but with no instructions.  Can I say, lame?!!  Anyway, I was frustrated, called back and they gave me the "because-it's-a-"parts"-issue,- I- had- to- deal- with- Chicco" excuse and soothing it over with her "I understand your frustration" talk, I hung up furious.  HELLO, I DID NOT PAY YOUR COMPANY FOR A DAMAGED PRODUCT!!!!  You could tell the the lady had dealt with hormonal pregnant women and just didn't care to go into it further than she did.

I picked up Jason that day after him being on an overnight shift and I asked him if he would call for me.  For some reason, most customer service reps tend to deal better with males than females.  So, he called, got the same run-around from the first person he talked to, but then asked to speak to a supervisor.  After being on the phone for a good 20 minutes, happymothers decided to make it a "claims" through their company with Chicco-- so they'd have to pick up the damaged stroller, process it through claims and THEN send us a new stroller (but he could not guarantee how long it would take.)  Still dissatisfied, Jason told him that while it was still a unsatisfactory response, he'd have to deal with it.  Nearly five minutes from hanging up with happymothers, we got a call from the supervisor.  He simply said, "Do you want the good news?  Throw the whole damn stroller away...we're sending you a new stroller immediately."  HOORAY.  V-I-C-T-O-R-Y.

We are happy with the outcome and will probably use happymothers.com again in the future.  Moral of the story?  Don't give up, get your hubby on the phone, demand good customer service and ALWAYS ask to speak to a supervisor.  It'll make the difference between a good and a bad outcome.  Now we are just waiting for our new stroller to come.  Hopefully this product is not damaged!  But for now, I'm just going to smile and be grateful that our stroller is one its way...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MAMMASITA!!!!!!

I just wanted to take a few minutes and express my love and appreciation for my mom.  My mom is a total rockstar and I don't know what I would do without her in my life.  Throughout the years, she has fought tooth and nail for me, she's given me all her love, she's always stood up for me, she's always encouraged me, she always made me feel like I could do ANYTHING, and most importantly, she's always been there for me - no matter what.  I think back at all the times that she had legitimate reasons to kill me, because I was the biggest devil child!  Like the time when she was pregnant in addition to having a broken leg with a cast up to her knee, I found it hilarious that she couldn't get around without her crutches...so, I would take them and hide them.  HIDE them, folks.  Then I would laugh at her as she would army crawl on the floor trying to pin me down so that she could get me to give her crutches back.  Seriously?  I should be dead.  And then there's the times when I would color with permanent marker all over her freshly painted walls, or the times when I'd use nail polish (after many request to NOT do this) on my mom's furniture - obviously ending badly when it actually did spill on her nice furniture.  In any case, she's been through a lot with me, and I'm grateful that she found it in her heart to allow me to live.  :-)

I think of her raising five rambunctious kids, trying to keep her sanity and a clean home.  She always did such a great job and never gets the credit she certainly deserves.  Still today, she's always trying to make our lives better by helping us.  I count on her advice so much and I know that as I welcome a little girl into this world, she'll be the first person I go to for advice on what to do with her.  I'm sure I'm in for a devil child sometime soon - as this is only fair to have a child just like me!

Without my mom, my home would not be furnished.  Without my mom, I wouldn't have anything to wear during my pregnancy.  Without my mom, I would still be trying to pack up my things in Washington, DC...and without my mom, I would not be alive.  She's my saving grace, she's spent so many hours by my side, whether it be when I was nearly dead in the hospital or just wanting to hang out and talk.

All in all, I have the best mom ever.  She means everything to me and I'm so grateful that she's my mom.  Thanks, mom, for filling my life full of life and spunk and for helping me become the person I am today.  I love you more than words can say...and I just want you to know that I am the most blessed person to have you as my mom.  I LOVE YOU!

Now, here's are some fun shots of my mom...
She braved snowmobiling in freezing cold weather at Hebgen...what a trooper!
Mom came out to help us move and for Jason's graduation - here we are in Annapolis.
This was taken near Thomas Jefferson's home at an old pub.  It was fun to visit Montecello!
AHH, like mother, like daughter!  Isn't she cute, ladies and gents?
Here's Paula's glamour shot, deep in thought and enjoying the scenery. Annapolis, MD.

THROWING IT ALL UP

On Sunday, I woke up feeling a little nauseous, which was no big deal, since it's been a common occurrence in my third trimester. Jason was on-call that day (which means I would pick him up 30 hours later on Monday afternoon) - and since I needed the car to go to church, I took him to work. When I got home, I was still nauseous, so I decided to eat some Raisin Bran to see if that would help. Within an hour, I was at the mercy of the toilet as I threw up everything I had eaten that morning. On top of that, my blood sugar dropped really low because I had thrown up the food that I had given myself insulin for. So, I drank some orange juice to correct my low blood sugar -- threw that up. Drank water. Threw that up. Tried to eat some glucose tablets (because I was still low), threw those up. In the meantime, I called Jason from the bathroom floor and told him I wasn't doing too hot. So, he hitched a ride home from another resident to come to my rescue. Before I knew it, we were on the way to the hospital. This was about noon on Sunday.

When we got there, I was obviously very dehydrated because I was unable to keep anything down, my blood sugars were erratic, my blood and urine were showing signs of minor ketoacidosis (which is NOT good for the baby) - and before I knew it, I was having some pretty hard contractions because of the dehydration and the baby seemed to be in a little bit of distress. So, they admitted me to the hospital for the night to stabilize me and the baby. After about five liters of IV fluids, lots of anti-nausea medicine and a small dose of morphine to stop the pain of contractions (ummm, yes - an epidural is definitely in my future), I was finally able to stop throwing up and I finally stabilized around 11 pm Sunday evening. I was discharged Monday evening around 6pm. After all was said and done, the baby is doing great, I'm doing great and I am back at home recovering from whatever it was that was ailing my body - flu or food poisoning? Who knows? I'm just glad to be home and pleased that our big baby is doing great. Moral of the story - throwing up stinks. What stinks more is throwing up uncontrollably when you are eight months pregnant AND diabetic. This combo will positively end you up in the hospital!
This was obviously the second day I was there - feeling much better. The first day, I don't think that you would have seen that smile...
There I am in all my pregnant glory - look at the size of that belly!!
I had two fatty IV's in my hands, along with some serious bruises from all the blood they drew from my veins! I am a pregnant warrior.
Me and my two boyfriends - they didn't leave my side for 48 hours...

Since being home, I've been doing my best to stay as hydrated as possible. Now, seeing that my bladder is the size of a peanut, this has been a little challenging. I am finding that I have to decide whether to drink water or eat food...because there is definitely not enough room for both at this point. Usually liquids win - and the bathroom is now my favorite hang out.

Exponential Growth...

I have officially reached my "uncomfortable-get-this-baby-out-of-me" stage of pregnancy. Sleeping is a pain, my bladder seems to be the size of a peanut, I can't really get comfortable, and I feel full after about two bites of nothing. Within the past week, it's really gotten hard to get up from the couch, do mundane household chores and to bend over for any reason... especially to put lotion on my legs or put on shoes.

The first picture is me right before I left for Utah - which was about seven months pregnant. Still somewhat comfortable, still able to do everything that I felt I needed or wanted to do.

Let me backtrack and give you some info on our baby. At my 25 week sonogram, she was perfectly on schedule. "64th percentile," the doctors said. That's totally within normal range - she was right in the middle of all babies at that stage. YAY. Good news for mom! The next sonogram was at 28 weeks. As I was lying on the table with a huge glob of goop on my stomach, the lady said to me, "wow, this is a big baby!" I told her that I was just in three weeks before and she was totally within normal range. Not the case this time around. She had jumped to the 86th percentile in THREE weeks - which meant that she was about three weeks ahead of schedule, weighing in at a little over four pounds according to their measurements. Funny, I thought. I decided that the huge size of my baby was the reason I suddenly felt like such a fatty! Then off to Utah I went, knowing that my incubator was doing its job very well. She was definitely happy and growing in there!

I got home from Utah and had an immediate sonogram scheduled to check on her size. This time she was now in the 97th percentile - meaning that only THREE percent of babies are bigger than her! That's right, folks. She is now weighing in at 6.5 pounds or so - and I still have a month to go.

Needless to say, she's now REALLY pushing on my bladder these days and is taking up every inch of space she has available to her. She's very active, her feet kicking my ribs hourly. I fear my next sonogram - anticipating something like, "she weighs 12 pounds now...or your baby is a huge monster!" So, stay tuned. We'll see where she is at my next sonogram in one week and see if she'll be making her arrival a bit earlier. I'm beginning to think this sounds like quite the deal. I should make a sign that says, "Will pay you to induce labor and get this big babe out of me."
Seven months pregnant
Here I am at the hospital (see next post) in all my pregnant glory. As you can see, she's decided to make her way OUT - which is about the only way she can go now!

Now, I'm just trying to figure out what to wear everyday. I now only have one pair of pants that I can wear out of the house that feel comfortable. I just ordered another pair of those full-panel pants from Old Navy and hope that they come tomorrow, as I have officially become recluse to my home because of lack of cute things to wear outside of the home. These days, my wardrobe consists of pajama bottoms and big t-shirts. Sigh.
How can I compete with this??

With baby girl Wright on her way, I wonder to myself, how can she compete with Stella?  I know this is probably the dumbest thing to say, but it concerns me.  While I know that I will LOVE my baby to death and will think that she is the cutest thing ever, I'll always wonder if I actually have the "ugly" baby...ladies, you KNOW what I'm talking about!  In any case, I'm just glad that there appears to be great genes in the family, because Stella is one cutie pie.  It was a lot of fun to be home in Utah with her and my awesome sis-in-law, Tandi!  We miss you guys tons!

Back to the Bloggin' Life!

After a few months on vacation and without internet, I'm back to blogging!  I'll apologize right now, as I am going to post a flurry of events that have happened since my last posting!  Baby Wright continues to grow, Jason is super busy at work and me - well, my body is trying to adjust to the daily growth of a giant baby!
