Our little mohawk, crazy-haired Lois

Lois' hair sticks straight up...especially right after we wash it!  Here's some great pictures of her profile and awesome hair!!

Uncle Nate and Grandpa Wright!

Lois loved having her Uncle Nate here...

I think he liked being here just as much as Lois liked him being here!

Big Nate has the special touch...she fell right asleep!!

Grandpa Wright feeding our naked baby!  Isn't she cute, folks??

She loves to eat!!!

Thanks for visiting us Uncle Nate and Grandpa Wright!  It was so great to see you and Lois loved meeting you!
Our first attempt at a family picture...

...kind of hard to get a good picture with a squiggly newborn!
I love Lois' face in this one!!  I wish I could read babies minds...

Well, we tried.  Maybe next time, right?

The many faces of Lois

A good baby story...

Last night, Jason took Lois to the bedroom to change her poopy diaper.  As I'm sitting there watching TV, I suddenly hear Jason yelling, "HELP!  HELP!!!"  I shot up and ran to the bedroom to find Jason laughing, yet completely debilitated...

What had happened, you might ask?  Jason opened her diaper to discover an even bigger-than-anticipated mess and before he knew it, Lois' foot found its way into it.  As he was trying to wrestle her little feet down so that they couldn't flail poop any further, she proceeded to pee ALL OVER - soiling our sheets...and giving Jason a good dose of, "what the heck am I supposed to do now?"

As I was trying to wipe the poop off of her foot, she reached down with her hand and touched the poopy "area" and then put it back to her face and mouth!  So here Jason and I are, trying to wrestle her feet and hands down, all the while, still trying to keep the poop in a contained area.  Then, I picked her up and got poop all over my shirt!  Needless to say, we stuck her right in the bathtub and just laughed the entire time.  It was classic!  Gotta love those baby poop stories.  They are what makes this experience so fun!
A Lois Ada Update!

Lois continues to eat, sleep and fill her diapers...just like a good little baby should!  We took her to the pediatrician on Friday and here are her latest stats:

Height: 22 inches - 95th percentile
Weight: 10 lbs, 5 oz - 95th percentile
Head: 14 inches: 40th percentile

Please take note of her head size.  Hmmm...I wonder where she got her small head from?! Seeing that her mother can't find a hat to fit her head, has to buy beanies from Gap Kids and can't wear headbands because they fall off her head, I'm guessing this ever-so-obvious trait has come directly from me!!!  I'm glad that I'll finally have someone to commiserate with about my small head!

Sleeping...

Traveling and sleeping...  (I love her little hands.  They are always touching her face or head when she sleeps.)

Thanks, Aunt Tandi for the DARLING dress!!  We're on the hunt for some red pantaloons to match.  It's still a little big, but we just couldn't resist.  Now she can match her cousin, Stella!

some more sleeping...

and some more sleeping...Look at that chunk!

This is a picture of her small head and her cute headband that takes up her entire head!

And of course, more sleeping with her big headband on.

I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSELF

I know, I know.  More pictures of Lois Ada.  But how can I resist??  She's just so darn cute!!  We are doing great.  Jason and I are officially tired - and I think we will be for the rest of our lives.  My mom informed us that she's been sleep deprived since the moment she had Raleigh, my oldest brother.  Yikes, that's a long time to feel tired.  But hey!  It's worth it.  It's so nice to have my mom here to help out.  My mom is so great and we've been able to pawn Lois off to her when we're really needing some sleep.  She's awesome - thanks Mom for being here!  We don't know what we'd do without you!!!

Lois has a strong personality already.  We kind of feel like she's a very mature soul in a not-so-mature body.  She can already hold her head up (not for a long time, but she can...) while she's on her stomach and she kicks her legs straight out and can practically hold her weight!  Even though she was a big baby, she doesn't fit anything we have yet.  She has a very narrow frame - especially her little shoulders!  She likes to keep us awake at night - she doesn't necessarily cry, but she's just awake and wants attention...so that is keeping us busy at night, and consequently, very tired.  Hopefully we'll get on a schedule here in the next few weeks and try to switch her all-day sleeping pattern to an all-night sleeping dream!  So, here's some more pictures from the past few days.  She gets more beautiful every day!  We're so lucky to have her.

This is how she sleeps most of the time - totally sprawled out!  She always sleeps with her arms above her head - she works her way out of swaddles to do this.

She's showing us her big muscles... (and don't you love the shirt?!?)

Look at that precious face.  Wow.

This is one of her grunting faces - she's doing a little business down in her diaper here...

Here's a cute outfit Grandma P bought her...

She likes to stretch out - look how long she is!

"What is going on here, mom?"  She was puzzled by all the bright flashes from the camera!

Happy Day for Daddy-J!

Jason is such a good and natural dad.  It's like he's been doing it for years!  I'm so grateful for Jason and am so blessed to have him as my eternal companion and now, the father of our child, Lois Ada.  She already loves her daddy so much...and this new mom is just in awe at the patience and kindness he has shown towards her during this whole process.  Jason gets up in the middle of the night, he changes Lois' diapers all the time, he feeds her, he burps her, he reads to her every night and he gives her lots of loves and kisses.  She's definitely a lucky girl to have him as her dad!  On top of that, he gets up, goes to work and takes care of me too!  What a champion.  I love you, babe and am so excited to start this new adventure together.  You're my everything.  XOXO

Jason reading an Ensign article to Lois.  She's really enjoying it, as you can see.

She loves her dad!

We think Lois looks a lot like Jason.  What do you think?

Thanks, babe for being there to comfort me through some serious labor pains...until they were shot down by a sweet epidural!!

Family scripture study... the first and certainly not the last time she'll sleep through family scripture study!  :-)  Thanks for being such a leader in our house!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, Daddy-J!
Oh, Daddy!

I wanted to take a few minutes and tell my dad how much I love him on this awesome Father's Day!  Dad, thanks for being the best dad ever!  Thanks for always believing in me, for helping me through life's hard decisions, for funding my life and for always making me laugh!  I'll always remember your corny jokes, playing the jumping game, hanging out at the cabin, long talks and all the great experiences we've had as a family traveling across the globe.  I love you so much and am happy to give you the sweet gift of Grandpa-hood this Father's Day.  Little Lois can't wait to meet you.  She's going to love you more than you'll ever know.  Maybe she'll be your little golf protege!  :-)  Happy Father's Day.  I love you!
