Happy Birthday, Lois!

Lois turned 3!  Ever since her big day, she has insisted that she is a "big girl" now and not a baby anymore.  Because babies are like Simon.  It is a wonderful bargaining tool when she is being naughty.

"Lois, do you want to be a big girl or a baby?"
"Oh, only babies do that..."

Works like a charm.
Thanks, birthday #3!

My mom was here with us because she was so sweet to drive us back from Utah.  She's a saint.  And we love her.

We totally slacked this year on a big party for Big Girl Lois, but since Jason was working on her birthday and she didn't know the difference, we just let it slide and had some cake and opened presents.  I think this is the last year we can get away with no party, so we ran with it.

Lois loved our rendition of Happy Birthday.

"Grammasita" got her this huge horse.  She loves it.

And again, her awesome camera smile!

And her gift from G&G Wright - she was tearing into that thing!

She was ALL business.

An awesome book and fairy wings!!

She loves the fairy wings.  She's a fairy just like Tinkerbell, didn't you know?

And to round it off, a Rapunzel doll.
She really likes Tangled.   Like a lot.

Happy Birthday, Lois!
We love you and can hardly believe you are THREE!

Lois & Simon

It is nearly impossible to get a picture of these two together.  Lois RUNS from the camera usually and when we actually get her to want to take a picture, she usually says "CHHHEEEEESE!" really loudly, but won't look at the camera.  She is not my child.

...But I did happen to snag this one, which I LOVE.  And amazingly, they are both looking at the camera!

 ....and it's over.  Done.

But Simon will always provide a great face for the camera.  Like this one...

 And this one!   (Four months)

Here's another one we took shortly after church one day.  I love her in that dress.

 And Simon.  Perfect little Simon.
4.5 months

 He's discovered his tongue.

And about makes me ball when I see this face.  PURE happiness here, folks.

The next two pictures are once upon a time when Lois wanted a picture with Simon.

A big "CHEEEEEEESE" but failing to look at the camera.  Strike one.  But cute gesture by putting her arm around him, wouldn't you say?

....and in 2.5 seconds, DONE.  Strike 2.

Then, gingerly pushing him away and saying, "I don't want a picture with Simon anymore."
Strike 3.

Awesome.
And here is Lois not feeling the camera love (or Simon love) anymore.

The End.

Marielle's Wedding

One of the main reasons I headed to Utah was to go to my cousin's wedding in the end of May.  Thankfully, the morning was about one of the only sunny days that I was there.  At the reception the night before, it was freezing and raining.  I'm glad it was nice for the temple!
Marielle and McKay waited FOREVER to get married because he was attending the Air Force Academy - where it is forbidden to marry until you graduate.  These two plugged it out for three whole years.  The sealing was so beautiful and joyous. We are all so happy that they are finally married and off in Southeast Asia enjoying a six-week honeymoon.  Congrats, you two!!

My two beautiful sisters-in-law.
They are awesome.

My mom and all the Sumsion girls - (L-R) Chloe, Clara, Cecily and Deanna

 Preston and Eli

Stella and Preston - Uncle Preston is always on the quest to be the "favorite" uncle.

 Tandi and Phoebe

My cute parents.  Sorry dad.  This is the only shot i got!

 Jordan, Kelly and James

 And here they are!!

 Way to go, McKay!

My handsome brothers - Mack was in China

 James

  Preston and Squinty Eyes

My mom and her brother, Chad

And my brother's cute family.  They are having a boy in October!  YAY!

Utah Trip 2011

Grandma Janny with her two munchkins!

The things grandpas will do for a laugh...he is so kind.

The two crazies - Lois has one big mouth.  Whoa!

Again, Lois needs some lessons.  I wonder if Stella could provide those...

The two handsome grandsons - with a third on the way!  My kid has a small head.  Or James has a big one.  Either way, look at the difference!  (and they are only two months apart.)

Aside from the day I gave birth to Simon, this is the only picture I have with him.  And I'm not even looking at the camera.  So, so sad.

 Cute Stella

Raleigh took the girls on a ride around the backyard.  Lois was in heaven.  Phoebe wasn't so sure...

 Uncle Preston

...and Simon's sad face.  Irresistible, no?

The girls loved playing in the over sized sandbox....errr, I mean, sand wedge.

 My beautiful mom and James

Lois was playing with James.  He was getting mad at his toys.  It was hilarious.

Our pretty and very grown up Lois

 Perfect.

 I think I love him.

And last, but not least, Phoeb-a-roni!  She's so stinkin' cute.
