Last week, Jason, Lois and I decided to make a visit to the Pima Air and Space Museum. We had a good time and throughout the whole outing, Lois kept saying, "WHOA!" followed by some Lois talk that we couldn't understand. That little lady is pretty awesome, huh? It kept us laughing and we loved seeing her reaction to all the big planes! Here are a few pictures from our adventure...

This was a NASA plane used to transport huge NASA parts. I'm pretty sure aliens were involved in the designing of this aircraft. Seriously - so weird looking!

This is not a joke. The second Jason saw this display, he said, "I wanna be that guy! Cool - a helicopter pack!" What the?!?! I was thinking, the guy who actually used this must have been crazy. Not to self: My husband is a little crazy.

Next, we're hoping to take a tour of the "boneyard" they have here on the local air force base. It is acres and acres of land with hundreds of stored military aircraft - and what little I've seen of it, it will not disappoint!

She clearly has the knack for showing some pretty serious attitude - this was after I had told her that we needed to change her diaper. Just imagine the ones I get when I tell her it's time to take a nap. I'd be dead a million times over if her looks really could kill!

Need a Good Laugh?

We did. So we busted out our Photo Booth function on our MacBook. And boy, it was some good fun. And since I don't want any of the pictures to feel badly, I couldn't limit sharing some of these bad boys with you. I hope they give you as many belly-hurting laughs as it did us!

The Bluetooth VS The Toddler

When we lived in DC, the bluetooth phone accessory was just becoming popular. (Now, I'd like to preface this with the fact that several people whom I love dearly and am very close with use a bluetooth, so it's nothing personal - just my observations and opinions. Okay?!?) Every day on my way to work, I'd see people walking along the street talking to themselves. I'd quickly have to scan for the bluetooth to know they were not actually having a one-sided conversation, but in fact, having a conversation with someone else.

Then, to my horror, I started seeing people doing everything with their bluetooth set. I understand it's purpose. In the car? Totally fine. Disabled or other such reason? Fine. But walking around a shopping center yabbering to your friends, or pretending to be in the middle of an important business deal while you're at the bowling alley? Or just keeping it there for safe keeping all day long - including at lunch, bathroom breaks and the like? Come on, peeps! Is this a case of some serious laziness and/or wanna-look-cool/important inferiority? And like any good mother would say, "If God wanted you to have a bluetooth in your ear, he would have put it there in the first place!"

Anyway, I digress. I'll get off my soapbox now.

All I'm saying is that I often thought people were crazy because of the BT. And sometimes people really did turn out to be a little crazy - shouting and talking to themselves sans BT! Yep, they were having one-sided conversations with themselves. At least the BT gave me some peace of mind that not all Washingtonians were crazy-nuts talking to themselves.

Which brings me to my next point: Entertaining a toddler. When Lois and I go out and run errands, I find myself trying to entertain my lil' miss with whatever is necessary to get the task done quickly and efficiently. This includes making funny faces, singing, adding sound effects to things, talking about all the items we are looking at, admonishing her to "sit on her bum" and so forth. I find that people are always looking at me thinking, "she's nuts." To which I would reply, "No, I'm not crazy, I just have a toddler!"

The next best thing is when we are driving. Lois loves to shake her body and arms whilst in the car seat and she also loves to see me shake my groove thang to the beat of the music. It really gets her laughing...and every parent understands the euphoric feelings you get when your child is busting a gut! So, I do it and we have a blast together. I also make funny faces that she can see through my rear-view mirror while I'm dancing and shaking my arms in the air. It's just a huge party in our little Corolla! You better believe I get some awesome stares from other drivers, but who cares? I'm having a blast and Lois is having a blast. Once again, no, I'm not crazy. I just have a toddler, thank you very much!

Looking a little crazy is most likely a choice for most of us. I'm glad I have a toddler to blame my "crazy" behavior on. I'd much rather blame it on my toddler instead of a small bluetooth glued to my ear. Because, really, Lois is way cuter than a bluetooth. And a much better reason, in my opinion, for looking a little crazy!

I want to hear your thoughts. Does the bluetooth drive you nuts, too? And how to you entertain your children while you are out and about? Am I the only one that acts like a monkey to entertain her child? What do you like to blame your crazy behavior on?

And if you do use a bluetooth, I still love you! It will just have to be one of those things we agree to disagree on. To each his/her own, right? I mean, if you wanna go potty with a bluetooth in your ear, who am I to tell you not to?

I thought it was about time I post some pictures of our happenings this March and April and of our little lady, of course! Things are going well here in Tucson. We go to the pool often and enjoy the amazing weather we're enjoying here in Arizona!

Kelly had an overnight here in Tucson and it just happened to fall on Easter. Lucky us! So we were able to enjoy the holiday with Jordan and Kelly. We love it when family visits!

Bunny ears!

Raleigh, Tandi, Stella & Phoebe came to visit at the end of March and we had so much fun. We wished they could have stayed for a very long time. Come back soon, please!

We went to the zoo and fed the giraffes. Lois couldn't stop giggling every time that long tongue came out of the giraffe's mouth!

Lois foiled yet another picture. And while I was trying to get her to smile, I ended up making the same face and Lois. Nice.

What have you been up to lately?

The Sun is Shining!

...both figuratively and literally! Yep, that's right. We in the Wright household are on the up and up! I went to bed at 9pm last night and got myself a solid nine hours of sleep and that alone can make you feel like a whole new woman! Plus, Lois woke up giggling and happy instead of crying. And that's a good thing! Today is good day. I can feel it in my bones.

And speaking of good things, I bought these gems for Lois the other day - Salt Water Sandals and, I must say, they are a-dorable. What's fun is that I wore these sandals as a child. Every spring, I'd get either a pink or white pair and they'd last me through spring, summer and some of the early fall (and still be looking good!) I bought them online because you can rarely find them in stores anymore. And they are a little more pricey than your average sandals, but I think it is worth it. They will not disappoint. They mold to the foot because they are real leather and they don't rub the skin because they are a soft leather. They can get wet, muddy, sandy or whatever and all you do is just spray them off and they are like new. Like a Timex - they can take lickin' and keep on tickin'. Anyone else out there wear Salt Water Sandals as a child?

Back in the day, they only came in some basic colors like brown, navy, red, pink and white. Now, they come in all sorts of colors, patent leathers and prints. I'm in love! I decided to go with silver for Lois' first pair. They've got some sass but are neutral enough to wear with everything. I have a feeling they will be a yearly purchase from here on out. Go and get a pair for your kids. I promise you'll love them!

Just One of Those Days

FOR SALE: Beautiful almost-two-year old girl, equipped with a knack for the dramatic. She will brighten your soul one minute and the next minute make you Stark. Raving. MAD. She enjoys throwing tantrums, not taking naps and undoing everything that you have just done. On the contrary, she will also make you laugh, make you want to eat her up because of her total and utter cuteness and make you marvel at the love you can have for such a little booger. She will also help teach patience, which we can all use a little more of in this life! If interested, please inquire within.

Okay, okay. So obviously I don't want to sell my darling little daughter, but seriously. Today, Lois was not my favorite little person. Why does she make me want to do this:

Which, coincidentally is the same face I get from her on a daily basis? Oh, the irony! Why does she make me want to revert to being a two-year-old too?

Somedays I just wish I could get things done. You know? Like get LIFE done. Dishes. Laundry. Cleaning. Grocery shopping. Exercising. SLEEP. Without someone screaming and crying. I guess today was not that day. Oh, well. There is always tomorrow and tomorrow brings me one day closer to this not being her "terrible two's" phase! (How long does this last?!?)

Thanks for letting me vent. I needed it.

Let me make it very clear (so CPS doesn't come knocking on my door): I do love my daughter with all my heart and have no intention of selling her.

Today, it just took a lot of effort not to be a two year old and scream, cry and yell back.
