The day after Christmas, we packed up the car and headed to St. George to spend a week with the Smith family. My parents rented a big house and we all crammed inside, ate great food, enjoyed fantastic company and conversation and simply had a fun-filled and relaxing week together.

The newest addition to the Smith family - James Crandall Smith, born December 3rd! It will be fun because he and our little man will only be months apart in age.
Lois was fascinated by baby James. I hope it sticks!

All the siblings chipped in together and bought my dad - AKA the Waffle King - a state-of-the-art All-Clad Belgium waffle maker. He was in heaven. That thing is awesome!

We saw a herd of elk while driving up Kolob Canyon. It was so pretty!
Lois was thrilled about the snow. When we put her back in the warm car she said, "It's FREEZING!"

On our way down, we saw these ducks skirting across the frozen pond. We were cracking up because they were sliding all over the place, but managed to stay in a line.

Sparklers are always more fun when: you have jammies + boots + three jackets + hat on.
And over the course of the week, I made this little quilt for Stella. She was thrilled and it was fun to have her there during the whole "creation" process.
As you can tell, we had a blast! We got to meet our new nephew, spend some QT with the fam and laugh a lot. Thanks, mom and dad for the wonderful week!!

What a great post!! Lois' hair is getting so long. The little plaid shirt from Childrens Place, Maya has the same one. I hope all is well with everything.
Remember when you were lamenting that you couldn't make a cute taggie blanket? You've come a long way if you can make an entire super duper cute quilt in a week with all that family time in between!
